Pilot actions in Zalaegerszeg
DRT pilot
A DRT system was planed and tested. The long term aim is to connect it to three existing public transport services, the local and regional bus operators and the national railway operator. Regarding the regional bus service, in the DRT application the users will see the static timetable of the regional buses in the concerned bus stops. The static or if it is feasible, the dynamic data of the local buses will appear in the DRT application so the interchange options will be seen/displayed. The schedule is going to be tuned to the existing local bus schedule so the passengers will have the option to interchange to the local bus network from the DRT service. Overall, the local inhabitants living in the three DRT areas will have connection/knowledge about the departure and arrival time of the buses and trains within the DRT application.
Carpooling
Additionally a carpooling system was planned which links the local/regional buses and the trains to the nearest bus stops. This should support the commute to work. Due to COVID-19 it was not possible to test this service.
