SECOND CROATIAN LSG MEETING HELD IN ČAKOVEC

On Wednesday, 29th November 2017, the second LSG meeting was held in the premises of the Technology and Innovation Center Međimurje in Čakovec, under the project RURES jointly implemented by the Croatian partners Regional Development Agency Međimurje REDEA and the Međimurje Energy Agency MENEA.

The RURES project is funded from the programme Interreg Central Europe 2014-2020. The main objective of the project is to explore the potential for using renewable energy sources (OIEs) and to improve energy efficiency (EEU) in rural areas. Apart from its Croatian partners, partners from Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary and the Czech Republic are also participating in the project, while the leading partner is Aufbauwerk Region Leipzig GmbH from Germany.

One of the activities of the project is the establishment of the local support group (or Regional Energy Group - REG), which will connect all relevant stakeholders operating in the energy sector. In this way, all REG members will become part of an international network that will ensure the transfer of information, knowledge and examples of good practices from project partners from different EU member states.

At the second meeting, besides getting acquainted with the REG members of the project, the representatives of the Regional Energy Agency North from Koprivnica presented their COMPOSE project which they are implementing within the Interreg Mediteran program.
