TIMELINE OF THE SCUOLA GRANDE SAN GIOVANNI EVANGELISTA DI VENEZIA

Venice is known by everyone in the world, mentioned in 500 million web pages, and attracts 28 million tourists every year. However how many of these tourists can go home saying they that really "know" Venice and that they have not just simply "seen" it?

The proposed multimedia project aims at enhancing the material and immaterial cultural heritage of the Brotherhood of Saint John the Evangelist, established in 1261 and still operating in its monumental seat, which is one of the treasures of Venice.

Today we want to let Venetians and tourists in on the secrets it holds, such as the relationship with high water, which is a natural defense mechanism for Venice (it is no coincidence that Venice has no walls ...) and the studies of perspective and acoustics by Venetian architects.

Through virtual experiences we want to immerse guests in the particular features and important events of the past of the Brotherhood: to do this, we must use new digital technologies to create virtual reality tools that allow everyone to experience them. The expansion of the cultural offer is aimed to increase the number of visitors and to attract a new target of users, making the route interesting also for schoolchildren. The increased notoriety of the museum will also help to attract more funds necessary for the conservation, maintenance and restoration of the monument, which is more than 750 years old.
